Did you know that April is Family Strengthening Month in Wisconsin and National Child Abuse and Prevention Month?
We are highlighting one of our valued nonprofit partners, 4-C: Community Coordinated Child Care, Inc., which helps communities help children and also believes every child deserves to grow up in a safe, stable, and nurturing environment.
4-C helps ensure that every child has access to high quality care and education by empowering our communities and families through integrated support and equitable practices. Did you know that they also provide child care referrals? That's how I was finally able to find part-time daycare for Z after months and months of searching on my own.
We're thrilled that Playful Acorns was selected as a co-host for some of 4-C's spring and summer FREE Play Groups. Check out this video on Facebook or Instagram from our first collaborative event in February at Verona Public Library.
What's a play group?
A high-quality, fun, structured and un-structured play experience for children (ages birth to 5 years) and caregivers that provides opportunities for play-based learning to support positive child development. Play Groups provide opportunities for caregivers/parents to connect with other adults and their communities. Some events may also feature snacks, coffee, goodie bags, local resources, and outdoor play and activities before or after the indoor portion is complete.
