Join Sweet Hive Bakery and Playful Acorns along with your kids (ages 0-5) for a fun morning of decorating cozy winter cookie cutouts and connecting with others in the community from 10-11 a.m. Friday, December 8th at Willy Street Co-op-West, 6825 University Ave, Middleton. Each ticket includes 1 dozen pre-baked sugar cookies, everything you need to decorate, and a box to take your treats home. Hot cocoa and coffee will be provided. 1 registration per adult with up to 4 children. No decorating experience needed for these fun yet simple cookies in shapes of snowmen, stars, snowflakes, trees, socks, and circles. Minimal piping work, lots of sprinkles, and tons of fun! If your kids need a break from decorating, they can enjoy toys, books, and games on soft play mats. Playful Acorns will close out our time together with a winter story. Caregivers and kids (geared toward ages 0-5+) are invited to join Angie Richter with The Wonder Studio, Playful Acorns, and a local author for a Kindermusik class on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Icki Sticki, 1225 Springdale St, Mount Horeb. At 9 a.m., order your drink/snack, connect with caregivers, and watch your kids play. At 9:15 a.m., enjoy a 45-minute music class in the party room. A portion of proceeds will go toward the newly created nonprofit organization, called the CEDAR Center (Connected Equine Development and Rehabilitation Center) to increase access to animal-assisted therapy services. Ease into your fall mornings with a hot drink, playful movement, and nature-themed stories! Connect with other caregivers and kids (under age 5) for a half hour indoor yoga and mindfulness class, led by little om BIG OM, while enjoying a beautiful view of Lakeview Park, 6300 Mendota Ave, Middleton. There will also be time to socialize over complimentary drinks (coffee, tea, or hot chocolate) while your kids engage in free play with toys supplied by Middleton Parks inside the heated shelter, sing a gathering song, and listen to a book read by a local children's book author. Continue the fun outside on a walk through the park's scenic trails, led by Playful Acorns, and stay as long as you'd like at the playgrounds. Changing tables are available. Price of the 6-week session includes one caregiver & one child ($60 for Middleton residents, and $80 for non-residents). Additional caregiver or sibling is $20. Children under 6 months are free. UPDATE: Now that the session has started, there is room for a few more families to register on a class by class basis. At 9:45 a.m., enjoy hot coffee and connect with caregivers while kids play. The music class will be held in Friendship Hall (inside Orchard Ridge UCC, an open and affirming church) from 10-10:30 a.m. Then, at 10:30 a.m., we'll walk outside for a StoryWalk through the church grounds.
